Chegou ao fim o período de 1 mês de aluguer dos Açores ao Japão. Fazendo uma apreciação geral desta estadia japonesa em território nacional, considero que Portugal ganhou bastante com a mesma:
- Foram 8 TW num mês, que permitiram a todos os cidadãos nacionais acumular bastante gold com medalhas TP para tirarem o melhor proveito possível deste fim-de-semana de descontos. Notem que um jogador que se tenha inscrito há um mês, teve tantas TW como eu tive até hoje no jogo;
- O Estado comprou e instalou um Hospital Q4, dando, im, um extra de 200 de energia gratuíta a todos os cidadãos nacionais;
- O nosso país evoluiu militarmente, economicamente, e socialmente. O dano que damos nas batalhas não tem parado de subir, sendo que somos o 18º país mais forte, e temos dado dano decisivo em batalhas dos nossos aliados, dano esse em que somos o 21º país que mais dano dá e ultrapámos a Espanha. Para um país que não teve acesso às fábricas de helis q1 "à borla", considero um enorme feito. Somos um dos países mais ricos do jogo (estávamos em 4º lugar), apesar de que muito do gold já foi investido na compra do Hospital e Sistema de Defesa, e também na emissão de PTE para venda no mercado. Somos também o 18º melhor país para se trabalhar. Por fim, estamos já no top 20 dos países com mais lação a nível mundial. A comunidade tem crescido e está mais coesa e dinâmica.
Gostava de reforçar o pedido para que utilizem o fórum de Portugal e o nosso canal de IRC.
- o Japão irá permanecer nos Açores por mais um mês;
- o Japão irá dar uma TW por semana a Portugal. O Japão também aceita as TW extra (como as desta última semana) mas será Portugal a cobrir os seus custos. Será o Japão a calendarizar a data e hora específica das TW;
- o Japão não atacará outras regiões de Portugal, para além dos ataques das TW, e irá tentar utilizar a sua influência a nível mundial para evitar ataques aos nossos territórios;
- Portugal e Japão continuam com as suas Políticas Estrangeiras completamente autónomas e independentes, apesar das boas relações que os dois países têm;
- Ambos os países vão continuar a cooperar, tentando analisar a possibilidade de implementar programas económicos, por exemplo. Os canais de comunicação irão continuar abertos também.
Como sinal de compromisso, esta Extensão do Tratado dos Açores será inada por:
- Fibonnaci, Presidente de Portugal;
- Shiro, Imperador do Japão.

Since the Azores Treaty is expiring, Japan showed an interest in prolonging their stay in the region for another moth. Both countries sat down to negotiate this extension and came up with the following terms:
- Japan will stay in Azores for one more month;
- Japan will grant a TW to Portugal per week, and extra TW if Portugal covers the costs, during this 1 month period;
- Japan vouches to make no further attacks on Portugal beyond the TW, and will try to use its influence and help prevent foreign attacks to Portugal's Territories;
- Portugal and Japan have full autonomy on their Foreign Policies, regardless of the cooperation and good relations between the two countries;
- Both countries will keep cooperating and maybe try to implement some economic programs and have open communication channels.
As a sign of commitment, this Treaty Extension will be signed by:
- Fibonnacci, CP of Portugal;
- Shiro, Emperor of Japan.
I'd like to thank Shiro for all the time and availability to keep cooperating with Portugal, setting the TW, negotiating extra stuff that was not predicted in the Azores Treaty and the respect and good will towards Portugal.

The first contact between Japan and Portugal began in 1543 when three Portuguese reached the southern tip of Japanese Archipelago after their boat was blown off course. Since then until Japan adopted the policy of seclusion, Portuguese brought various examples, both physical and abstract of European culture and civilization to Japan. In the middle of the 16th century, Portugal also became the first European country that Japanese visited.
Except for a short period of absence after the Second World War, Japan and Portugal have enjoyed good relations. To commemorate the 450th anniversary in 1993 of their good relations, both countries organized and held a variety of events in each country. In the same year, Their Imperial Highnesses Prince and Princess Takamado made an official visit to Portugal, and then President Mario Soares visited Japan as a state guest. In 1998, Expo 98-Lisbon is being held from May 22 to September 30 under the theme of Oceans-Heritage for the Future, and the Japanese government has opened a Japanese pavilion at the exposition. From May 23 to 25, Their Imperial Majesties the Emperor and Empress made their first visit to Portugal during their trip to Europe. In 2010 Japan and Portugal will celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Treaty of Peace, Amity and Commerce.
