This was great! Also do you know that both the Serbian who destroyed the plane and the American pilot (who survived the fall) became friends?
That serbian was hungarian, just to be precise Wink https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zolt%C3%A1n_Dani
Sandor Petefi is Serbian.
Hungarian and Romanian too! His origins are like Romeo and Juliet: ``He is of Hungarian and Romanian ancestry; his paternal family are Székelys of Bukovina, like the majority of inhabitants of the village, settling Vojvodina in the late 19th century, while his mother was of Banat Romanian ancestry``
Harry is right, main credits for hungarian PVO expert in Yugoslavian Army. Luckily for Hungary, Nato didn t attack them because of this action 😂
Meh, it was probably a lucky shot, he was really aiming at a flock of geese.
If this is about F-117 , then I like this story. To all who say this is a lucky shot - well - they are right, because only one such thing was ever done and would not be repeated and will hardly be. It is an example that capable officer who knows physics and radioelectronics well can do a thing. But at the same time, NATO command became lazy over time - they flew the same route every time, they quit escorting F117 with 2 F14 like they always used to do, they ignored intelligence saying need for electronic and radar countermeasures is still actual and so on. If you ask me, downing F117 is actually more of American achievement than Serbian.
