The 2018 film follows the story laid out by the video game of the same name, which was released in 2013, and sees Croft go on a perilous adventure in order to avenge her father's death and save the world from danger.
From the trailer, at least, Vikander portrays Croft as a grief-stricken but determined Croft, who sees her fair share of life-threatening action. Dominic West plays Vikander's late father, who communicates with her through video messages recorded before his death, and Daniel Wu plays Lu Ren, the ship's captain who helps Croft complete her mission.
