Asia is the center of martial arts. China with its Kungfu, Tai Chi, Wing Chun, etc. Japan has Karate, Aikido, Ninjutsu, etc. Korea is famous for its Tae Kwon Do. Everyone knows Thailand's Muay Thai and Muay Boran thanks to the Ong Bak movies.

Lately it's Indonesia's Silat (Pencak Silat) turn to get the world's attention, thanks to the Indonesian new action star Iko Uwais and his Wales director Gareth Evans on their Raid movies (The Raid Redemption and The Raid II).

Indonesia houses more than 150 Silat styles. The styles are as diverse as Indonesia with its races, languages and cultures. One of the famous Silat styles is Silat Harimau (tiger style Silat) from Minangkabau, Sumatra island.

Here is a short documentation of Silat Harimau, whose ambador is Datuk Edwel Yusri. He has been introducing the once exclusive Silat Harimau to many Indonesians as well as foreigners (France, UK, Austria, USA, etc).

Have a nice time watching the vid!
